Petrol Prices

A glance at your local petrol station shows Diesel is now up to over 105p per litre.

Where does the money you pay for a litre of petrol or diesel really go?

Well if we were to say Diesel was 100p to keep things simple. You would find. Around 50p of that £ is tax! 25p it the actual price of the product. About 7p is the price the petrol station makes (or the company than own the petrol station) and get this 17.5p is VAT. So really you get taxed twice.
