Crime and Your Caravan
Crime, is becoming quite an issue here in the UK, as it is world wide. How can you help protect your caravan. Crime and vandalism is becoming more and more of a problem, do you really want to store your caravan somewhere where it can be easily stolen or broken into.
If you do decide to choose Indoor caravan storage, investigate the facility first. Take some time to check the doors and windows are they secure. Does the seasonal storage company use CCTV cameras, is it alarmed. Make sure that the CCTV is recorded as thieves will soon get smart to dummy cameras or CCTV that is not monitored 24hours a day.
One of the easiest security devices I have seen is a padlock through the leg winder nut. The guy drilled a hole through the wheel winder nut, all four of them, and put a padlock through each one as well as wheel clamp. A bit tedious, but removing the hitch is also a good deterent as there is then nothing to clamp to.
